The Almeria HLA Mediterráneo hospital received the award for the best Global Hospital Management in the category of medium-sized hospitals and the prize for the Women’s Area for the second year running at the 26th TOP 20 Hospitals Edition organised by IQVIA, the leading company in the use of data, technology and advanced analytical technologies. On the other hand, the HLA La Vega hospital was acknowledged as the winner in the Musculoskeletal category thanks to the specialists, action protocols and results of its Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery Unit.

The TOP 20 awards are reference points in the Spanish healthcare area and they are based on a programme in which around 200 public and private hospitals take part obtaining a benchmark with respect to organisations with similar characteristics against which they are measured and the effectiveness or efficiency of their activity is compared in different care areas. The aim of this programme is to improve the results based on indicators of quality, operation and efficiency, in addition to acknowledging good practices within the sector.

Excellence in hospital management and specialised care

The Almeria HLA Mediterráneo hospital was acknowledged for the first time in 2024 with two TOP 20 awards that have been revalidated this year: best global hospital management, within the group of medium-sized private hospitals and in the Women’s Area, specifically in the Obstetrics category.

HLA La Vega has won this acknowledgement for the first time this year, emphasising the comprehensive and multidisciplinary focus of the Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery Unit, with highly qualified specialists in the different areas of the locomotor system and a structure that allows personalised care, adapted to each patient to be offered, guaranteeing the best results in diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.

Dr. Joaquín Carreño, the corporate medical director of the HLA Group, who received the awards on behalf of the Almeria centre, emphasised that “it is a satisfaction for our hospital Group that our centres stand out on a national scale due to their implication in the continuous improvement of their care results. Congratulations to the management and teams of the hospitals of HLA Mediterráneo and HLA La Vega (Murcia).”
