SCIAS partners with the Josep Carreras Foundation in the fight against leukaemia

The agreement will allow the hospital to host social awareness activities and support-raising initiatives in favour of medical research and social responsibility.

SCIAS Hospital of Barcelona has signed a collaboration agreement with the Josep Carreras Foundation against leukaemia to host various social awareness and support-raising activities on its premises. The initiative reflects SCIAS’s strong commitment, as a healthcare cooperative, to medical research, corporate social responsibility, and the development of a more humane and engaged healthcare model.

Thanks to the agreement, the Josep Carreras Foundation will be able to carry out informational campaigns within the hospital to raise awareness about malignant haematological diseases and encourage public involvement in their eradication.

A shared commitment to health and research

"Social commitment is an essential part of our identity as a cooperative. We understand that our role is not limited to providing care: we must also promote research and support those working towards better medicine," highlighted Andreu Obis, President of the Board of SCIAS, during the formalisation of the agreement. Three awareness days are already scheduled, in October and December 2025 and February 2026.
