Album Gourmet

A collection of stickers featuring 100 restaurants

This December, a collection of stickers based on one hundred high-quality restaurants was presented in Barcelona.

There is no doubt that collecting is currently trendy, in a very positive way. People have always enjoyed collecting, and nowadays there are many —so many!— options to indulge in this way of getting a kick out of life. And now we have a new option that brings together collecting with gastronomy. In Barcelona, the Álbum del Gourmet has been born, a collection of stickers that is also a restaurant guide. A somewhat nostalgic way of exploring and collecting the city. Go from restaurant to restaurant, from eatery to eatery, and let the game lead you through the city. The point is having fun and collecting.

This initiative is the brainchild of two restaurateur brothers, Rubén and Miguel Bermúdez. They have several restaurants in Barcelona and wanted to experience once again the beautiful feeling of collecting and sharing they remembered from their childhood. And they wanted to do so while encouraging diners to explore the city. This is how this album of collectible stickers, the Album del Gourmet, was born. As Rubén tells us: “as far as we know, this has never been done before, it's something new. The thought that we are innovative makes us happy, and we hope that people will be encouraged to visit and collect”. But these stickers, one for each restaurant, are not only obtained by dining there. “We will be holding collectors' get-togethers throughout 2025. Spaces and moments to trade stickers, to exchange. It will probably be in cocktail bars, designed to allow participants to chat informally, so there will be fun moments, where you can meet other collectors and, of course, also exchange stickers to complete your collection”.

The Barcelona album will be active throughout 2025, and the plan is that, if collectors are engaged and participate in this adventure, “there will be editions in other cities, the idea will expand”, says Rubén, “and also that it will be repeated in the years to come. This is an adventure that in some ways is a bit crazy, but we hope that it will take off and that we will be able to make it grow further”.

How can I get these stickers?

The format of the collectibles is self-adhesive stickers, and you get one with each lunch or dinner at one of these restaurants. They are then laid out on album pages surrounded by short phrases that encourage you to “lick your fingers”, “order another one” or “make it two”. And there is a final section where each collector can write down their personal impressions of each restaurant. There is also a set of stickers with different notes to use throughout the album: the best atmosphere, the most romantic restaurant, the one with a really great wine cellar... and so on and so forth. The idea is that each album will end up being a personalised scrapbook with impressions and notes. Rubén tells us that “initially, we wanted to group the restaurants by city neighbourhoods, but as there is a degree of imbalance between the different neighbourhoods, in the end we have laid them out in the album according to design criteria: graphic affinity, similar colours... We have let the design determine the sequence in the layout”.

The stickers are given to diners once they have visited one of these restaurants for lunch or dinner. As the profile of the restaurants is very diverse, the stickers have been classified into two types: lunch/dinner stickers for 40 euros and lunch/dinner stickers for 70 euros. This depends on the type and profile of each restaurant.

Trading to complete the album

It wouldn’t be a proper collection if it didn’t provide a chance to trade stickers. Visiting one hundred restaurants in one year is a difficult challenge —and watch out, because the first participants to complete the collection will get free dinners as a prize—, meeting other collectors is also part of the fun. So, they have planned trading events that are initially intended to take place every fortnight. “These events will take place in one of the cocktail bars that take part in the album, we will invite the collectors, and they will be able to participate and trade stickers. We hope and wish that these moments will turn into small parties. And that the joy will be contagious. It's a proposal designed for fun and enjoyment”, Rubén tells us. So now it's our turn, the turn of collectors and sticker fans, to smile and chew.
